World Cancer Day

4th February marks a day for a global movement in the fight against cancer. Declared as the World Cancer Day, the objective of this day is to get as many people as possible talking about cancer. The movement aims to prevent deaths by raising awareness and education about the disease, and pressing governments and individuals across the globe to take action.

Why Is Awareness Important?

Currently 8.2 million people die of cancer every year. Out of this 4 million are premature deaths (age 30 to 69).

2016 -2018 – We Can, I Can

World Cancer Day 2016-2018 aims to explore how everyone – as a collective or as an individual – can do their part to reduce the burdens of cancer globally. It provides people the chance to reflect on what one can do to make a pledge and take action.
